Personally: I am not a huge fan of valentines day, but I also don’t understand why a sample of the population hates on valentines day. Why can’t it just be a fun day just to give people valentines day related chocolate and candy or even just to tell someone in your life you love and appreciate their presence? It doesn’t have to be able singles awareness or couple mushy lovey dovey shit, Valentines day is whatever you make of it. Do you have to celebrate Valentines day? No, but is it any less commercial than halloween, christmas, mothers day, fathers day or any holidays that people celebrate. Also no. The whole point of holidays was when once a pon a time long long ago, income wasn’t so disposable (not that it isn’t now, people just treat cash like its going out of style) and you saved your hard earnings all year to do really nice things for those you love once or twice a year. It isn’t supposed to be a support group day for singles either. Why don’t you do something nice for your best friend, friends, parents, siblings. What I mean to say is even if you’re single you can’t tell me that there isn’t a person in the whole wide world who doesn’t love you. The whole point of Valentines day is love, not hate, so if you’re being a hate mongerer on Valentines day I think you’ve missed the point entirely in the first place. when you finally feel like finally everything is going fine and then you realize that you couldn’t be more far off from the truth.
